Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a procedure to correct drooping or wrinkling around the eyes. Ocular ptosis, or sagging, can give you an older, tired appearance or even interfere with your vision. To correct this condition and brighten your eyes, Dr. Callaghan will create incisions in your upper or lower eyelids to remove unwanted fat and tissue. Next, he will gently pull your skin so it appears smooth before suturing the incisions closed. Blepharoplasty can be performed on its own or in conjunction with other treatments, such as a facelift. As an added benefit, the incisions used during blepharoplasty surgery can easily be concealed in the natural folds of the eyelids.
